There are a lot of challenges in communicating across basically every time zone in the world. While it’s based in Utah, Ultradent has offices and subsidiaries in 10 countries scattered across the globe with more than 40 languages spoken among employees. After relying on email for two decades, the executive team wanted a more efficient way to communicate throughout the organization. Specifically, they wanted a better way to share our company story and our wins with our team members. I led the strategy development and implementation of Viva Engage as our global cross-team communication platform. I partnered with each member of the executive team to create content frameworks for them to share information from their umbrellas and created the focal asset for this new strategy, the UltraCast video podcast.

I took the format of feature stories I used to produce in news and adapted those to fit our corporate audience. I set up regular check-ins with leaders from across the company and found stories to highlight. Then I’d interview the key stakeholder, add in some b-roll, and publish on Viva Engage. Ultracasts are regularly mentioned in annual employee surveys as being appreciated for keeping colleagues informed about company happenings and giving a platform to share successes.

In 2025, I averaged a 61% view rate for UltraCasts, meaning nearly two thirds of Ultradent employees watched them. Engagement hovered around 20%.
